Here’s a simple and budget-friendly Aloo Paratha recipe, a classic Punjabi dish that’s both filling and delicious!

Ingredients (Serves 2-3)

• 2 cups whole wheat flour

• 2 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)

• 1 small onion (finely chopped, optional)

• 1 green chili (finely chopped, optional)

• ½ teaspoon salt

• ½ teaspoon cumin powder

• ½ teaspoon garam masala (optional)

• ½ teaspoon red chili powder (optional)

• 1 tablespoon chopped coriander (optional)

• Water (for kneading)

• Ghee or oil (for cooking)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour with a little water and knead it into a soft dough. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

2. Make the Stuffing: In another bowl, mix mashed potatoes with salt, cumin powder, garam masala, red chili powder, green chilies, onions, and coriander.

3. Assemble the Paratha: Take a small ball of dough and roll it into a small circle. Place a spoonful of the potato mixture in the centre, fold the edges over the filling, and seal it. Roll it out gently into a round paratha.

4. Cook the Paratha: Heat a pan and place the rolled-out paratha on it. Cook on medium heat for a minute, then flip. Apply ghee or oil on both sides and cook until golden brown.

5. Serve Hot:
