Healthy benefits of red berries and chia seeds.
Red berries contain vitamin C and antioxidants that can be beneficial for cardiovascular health.
The tiny little chia seed is an excellent source of fiber, which can improve heart health and reduce cholesterol levels and promote intestinal health.
Ingredients
1 cup of mixed red berries (strawberries, raspberries, and/or cherries)
1 ripe banana
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1/2 cup of Greek yogurt (or a non-dairy alternative)
1/2 cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
Ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients: Wash the berries thoroughly. Peel and chop the banana.
2. Blend: In a blender, combine the mixed berries, banana, chia seeds, Greek yogurt, milk, and sweetener (if using). Add ice cubes if you prefer a colder smoothie.
3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend all the ingredients until you achieve a smooth consistency. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add more milk to reach your desired consistency.
4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more honey or maple syrup.
5. Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses and garnish with a few extra chia seeds or some fresh berries on top if desired.
Make the recipe your own by adding other ingredients from your fridge for added nutrients.
Enjoy!
