Benefits of live yogurt on your gut health

Live yogurt, often referred to as yogurt containing live and active cultures, offers several benefits for gut health. Check out the benefits below.

  1. Probiotic Boost

Live yogurt contains beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium. These probiotics help balance the gut microbiota by increasing the number of good bacteria, which can improve digestion and overall gut health.

  2. Improved Digestion

The probiotics in live yogurt aid in the digestion of lactose, the sugar found in milk. This can be particularly beneficial for people who are lactose intolerant, as it can reduce symptoms like bloating and gas.

  3. Enhanced Immune Function

Probiotics in live yogurt can strengthen the gut’s barrier function and modulate immune responses, leading to a more robust immune system and potentially reducing the frequency and severity of infections

  4. Gut Health Regulation

Regular consumption of live yogurt can help maintain regular bowel movements and alleviate issues such as constipation or diarrhoea. The probiotics help keep the digestive system functioning smoothly.

  5. Reduced Inflammation

The beneficial bacteria in live yogurt can help reduce inflammation in the gut. A balanced microbiota can lower the risk of inflammatory gut conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
